Yesterday

My daughter’s school does home visits.

The teacher comes to your house to meet with your child.

The bonding part that happens when the teacher comes is SOOO worth it.

But, the cleaning of my house before her arrival took some time.

My house usually isn’t a disaster, but it’s been super ridiculously HOT here…I mean like 113 degrees hot, so we’ve been staying indoors.

Three kids indoors = messy house.

The teacher arrived, everything was going great!

Until……

My first grader started explaining to her teacher:

“My Nana lives in Mammoth and one time we made a scavenger hunt for my Pops where my Nana hid a clue in her bra!”

Teacher looks at me, and as I try to explain, my two-year old daughter locks all three of us in her bedroom.

Me: “Great, so what you’ve learned about my family is that her Nana hides clues in her bra and I lock my kids in their rooms like Cinderella.”

(Let me say that I have the lock reversed so my two-year old stops making hourly night trips to my bedroom).

Teacher: Laughs (maybe it was an uncomfortable laugh???probably thinking: I hope her two-year old lets us out!)

And scene.

This is my life.

I love this post, I’m sorry you got embarrassed but don’t you love your kids for just saying what they think? 🙂 What school do your kids go to? Also do you have a pediatrician that you can recommend? I’m currently looking for one. Thanks.
