Mammoth: The Last Chapter

If you are ever passing through Bishop, California, you MUST stop at Laws Train Museum.

This is fun to check out if you have kids with you or not.

The kids can climb on the trains, move the gears, ring the bell, and anything else you can think of. Yes, you can climb on them too, it’s not only for the kids!

Mine could play here all day!

The museum is set up like the town that used to greet passengers passing through by train. Some buildings are the originals, some brought in for restoration.

You can visit the barber shop, doctors office, blacksmith, post office, miner’s cabin, agent’s house…you name it. A lot of it is hands-on!

You get a glimpse of what life was like not too long ago.

Then you can be grateful with all the advances we have made.

I am grateful that we do not have to curl our hair like this any longer:

That is the actual device they used to use.

Look at the lady on the right in the picture.

Scared?

Me too. Very, very scared. I don’t care that this was considered a luxury.

I’m pretty sure if you pulled that device out in a torture situation, you could get whatever information you needed….I’m just sayin.

So, if you’re ever passing through, make this a stop. I think you’ll enjoy it.

It looks like the curler in the middle is smoking and the lady on the right just noticed it.

My head hurts just looking at it.
